Here’s what some of our clients have said about how we have added value to their organisation…
NHS Gloucestershire
“At a time of great transformation across the NHS we are committed to supporting our staff by developing their ability to manage change in a positive and resilient manner. Our joint enterprise with the Lighten Up team has generated huge amounts of positive feedback, with lasting benefits being seen throughout the organisation. We are confident that our ongoing investment in the wellbeing of our staff will ensure they are best placed to handle future change, whilst continuing to deliver high quality services to the people of Gloucestershire.”

When it was suggested to staff to consider taking part in the Lighten Up programme many of us were a little sceptical about how useful it would be and how much would be achieved through our involvement. Those who did take up the opportunity were a diverse group from different walks of hospital life.
Our group jelled very quickly and, knowing what we discussed at the meetings was confidential and would stay within the group, we were surprisingly open and honest with each other and this was perhaps the key to the success of the programme for us.
The story lines we were shown opened many discussions and it was an eye opener to learn just how you actions within your job or the decisions you made within your job impacted on colleagues. We were surprised at the outcome. Each of us took away a new respect and better understanding for each other and their ward or department, which goes a long way to a more harmonious working life.
Some of us decided it was the right time to make that change, to go on that diet, to give up smoking, to have the courage to say no, to do something about our work load and time management. Many have felt it has helped them in some way not just in the work place but at home too.
We would urge others to attend as we all felt this course had had a positive impact on us. If it only goes a little way to helping you lighten your load, isn’t it worth it?

“As a team of highly-educated professionals we were a little sceptical about what the Lighten Up programme could do for us. All our reservations were blown away once we had completed the programme. We now work better as a team, have a greater understanding of how we can reduce stressful situations in the workplace and our overall wellbeing has improved dramatically.”

“Thought you might like to have some feedback from the “Lighten Up“ pilot programme which I attended through May and into June. I was quite sceptical at the beginning of this and could not see that there would be any benefits; however I can honestly say that the course has helped me in a few ways:
· I now step back and take time for myself at work and at home i.e. I take a break and go for a walk most work days, I make sure that at least once a week I go cycling in the evening.
· I am still learning to say no in the best possible way when put under pressure with extra tasks
· My feeling of panic seems to be less than before
Overall I feel that I have taken back some control over my day to day living in both work and at home.”
