Lighten Up and the Cheltenham Borough Council Human Resources Directorate have been working together for three years to develop and create significant changes at work. After a pilot programme to help raise awareness of well being on a voluntary basis, Lighten Up was invited in to the organisation to help develop and implement solutions raised by the Authorities Stress at Work Policy.
West Midlands Police Service (Crime Division)
The day-to-day pressures facing our Police Service are well known. The Crime Division at West Midlands Police invited us in to deliver a tailored programme, including Police Officers and staff members, to work together and explore how the Lighten-up team might help them. After two successful programmes, the force has embarked upon a series of further programmes to initially include over 140 front line and back office management members.
Connaught PLC
With the advent of Local Authority Housing stock being transferred to the Private Sector or Housing Association for their on going management, the need for strong and open partnerships between the organisations involved has never been more important. As Connaught Partnerships entered into such an arrangement with one Authority, Lighten Up was asked to help to make this transition happen as smoothly as possible.

Whilst we all expect our teachers to know everything, there are of course times when even they need help in making changes to the way they work. Working with the Deputy Headmaster and a combined group of senior and new staff, we considered how we might work through some of the challenges they faced at work.
At the programmes conclusion, not only did each of the group gain enormously from the experience individually, the effect on the group as a team in terms of shared understanding of how they could perform better, will continue to bear fruit.
